Someplace in Thyme
I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

Happy Spring And Happy Pink Saturday
My garden is beginning to come alive with color. Spring has arrived in AZ and I have proof of it right here! One of my rose trees has two beautiful pink blooms on it and they smell wonderful. I don't know why, but the first blooms of the year always seem to be the best.
This is a new rose that I purchased this year, and I can't believe the petal count. This is the second rose I have seen on this little bush and they are huge. I am in love!!
The week can't go without me creating something for my website. I would like to share with you the above pincushion and handmade pins. Altho I don't use a pincushion like this one, (I can't bring myself to poke it with all those pins) I think they look great just sitting on a table or shelf. These are so much fun to make and decorate any way you like. Vintage lace, faux pearls and a handmade rose.
I couldn't help but turn a pincushion into a tassel. Once you make one tassel, you are hooked. I have tassels hanging on just about everything in my home.......maybe I need to shop for more items to hang them on!! They are addictive. I think I may need to give a tutorial in another post, so you will see what I mean and can be just as much of an addict that I am. What fun we could have sharing our tassel creations.
THANK YOU Beverly for making this possible each week. I know that a lot of work goes into each post and so make sure you visit as many blogs as you can. You will find a list on Beverlys post at How Sweet The Sound.
Be sure to visit Vicki at Bunny Cottage and see what she has been up to. Happy Pink Saturday everyone and I hope you have a great week. I will be off to attend the Canton Flea Market in Texas with a best friend. I will be sure to take lots of pictures to share. Please leave me comments and know that if I don't respond, it's because I am having the time of my life. I appreciate each and everyone of you.

Vintage Alphabet Party
It's time once again to have a little fun. It's time for the Vintage Alphabet Party over on the Etsy Cottage Style blog. This time we are celebrating the letters "C" and "D". If you would love to see what the other participants are showcasing, just go HERE. Enjoy!
I decided to show a cottage "doll" that I created and made using the sweetest fabrics. If you love roses, she is the gal for you. Vintage lace was used on her pantaloons and dress.
The letter "C" just has to be for cookies. Lovely faux cookies, decorated, sugared and served in a beautiful bowl. No vintage here, but fat free, calorie free and sugar free too. Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.
Is there a little bit of the primitive in you? Here's another doll that brought out the primitive in me. I just love her.
All these items are for sale on my website HERE just in case you are interested. Either way, I hope you enjoy looking at the items I picked out for these fun letters.

Look What I Found.....
You have probably been through this before: your darling husband has to go to Lowe's for grass fertilizer and requests your company. It's the last place on earth you want to go on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, but being the loving wife that you are, you go. While Mr. Handsome was over filling his cart with bags of stinky stuff, I wondered over to the plant area. I wasn't looking for anything particular, just browsing around, enjoying the sights and taking it all in. Then it happened!!!!! I fell in love. LOVE AT FIRST SITE.
I have always loved orange blooms, any orange blooms, but this is over the top beautiful. We grow lots of hibiscus plants in the desert. They are everywhere, every color and type. I am most enchanted by the single blooms instead of the doubles, but when I saw this plant, I had to bring it home. Oh, how I wish there was a scent, it would be heaven, I just know it.
So beautiful I had to show it again, once more, one more time.
This is a single and my favorite color: yellow. Isn't she pretty?! I love the throat of the single blooms and the stamens.
Just look at that!! It's so sad they only last a day or so, but then, they bloom all summer and into the winter. Isn't life grand!

THANKYOU SO MUCH MARILYN!
Some people have lots of luck. They win everything they enter. I am not one of those people. The truth is, I have won only two give a ways since I have been blogging. Notice, that I did not say the "sad" truth is. This is because......LOOK WHAT I JUST RECEIVED IN THE MAIL!!!
I am doing the HAPPY DANCE!!! Right now, I am the luckiest girl on the planet!!!!! THANK YOU so much Marilyn. I was the first winner of Marilyn's give a way on her blog, Our Victorian Cottage. You can visit sweet Marilyn and see what she has been up to HERE. It will be worth every minute, I promise you.
Hand made embroidery and crochet work. I can't begin to describe how beautiful this work is. The above picture is of a gorgeous round doily, you can see all the work that Marilyn put into this.
This piece is a dresser scarf and both have all my favorite colors. Pink two toned, lavender and blue daisies, scroll work and lots of over the top crochet work too. I LOVE THESE and they will be given a place of honor in my home.

It's Time For Pink Saturday
Once again it's time to have some fun: it's Pink Saturday time. This is a time when lots of bloggers get together to show and share their love of pink!! Thankyou so much Ms. Beverly of How Sweet The Sound for making all this happiness possible each and every week.
This week I made and listed this charming pillow on my website. I used a piece of beautiful vintage lace across the top and florals to the side. I even made a lovely gift tag to go with. I then got an inspiration to do a charm using my stained glass background. I included a snippet of vintage lace inside. I have decided to make these charms my signature piece and use them on most of my future work. I really love the effect, a memory incased in glass....
I found the basket of eggs while on a trip to Home Goods, don't you just love them? I am addicted to that store.....so much fun in one place.
I hope all of you have a wonderful Pink Saturday and a great week ahead. Please take some time and visit the other pinkie blogs for lots of fun, inspiration and beauty. Don't forget to leave those great comments we all enjoy.

Tuesday Treasures
It's that time of the week once again when we get to celebrate Tuesday Treasures at Shabbylaneshops. This weeks theme is "Getting Ready For Spring." I thought a sweet tassel may be in order, as it looks very much like spring to me. I love the colors pink, white and green together. So shabby sweet on a dresser knob too. You can find my offerings for this week on my website SOMEPLACEINTHYME. I hope you enjoy the items I have put up this week.

Pink Saturday
Hello sweet bloggers. It's time once again for Pink Saturday, which gives us all a chance to stop in and say hello. I love reading your comments and visiting to see what you have been up to this week.
As you can see, spring has hit the dessert and we are rejoicing with blooms. This is one of two nectarine trees that are too gorgeous for words. Because these trees are young, we had no fruit on them last year. We are hoping for a bite this summer, or at least a taste. The bees have been busy, so we have hope.
Yellow is my favorite color and I also love the hibiscus, so I had to sneak in a bloom for you!!
I also enjoy the different colors of these potted anemone's, and look! there is a pink one.
A close up just for you. Lets make sure we thank Beverly from how sweet the sound for once again making this possible. Please be sure to visit as many pinkies as you can and leave a comment, I know they appreciate it as much as I do.

It's Junque I Tell Ya!!!
I am married to one of the worlds nicest men, but he has no understanding of the word junk. If he doesn't see a use for it, it must be junk. Sometimes I see something, pick it up and it ends up in the garage for use later. Maybe I have no idea what I will do with it, but it's a treasure, and it's mine!! Now don't get me wrong, my man is wonderful, but when he wants to clean and clear out the garage, he means everything he sees as not useful.....:( This is why it was time to finally do something with these two items I found. You know how it goes, out of site, out of mind. That is what happened here.
The above piece is something I found (I have no idea where, when or how) but I had to have it. I think it had a mirror in the center, but I didn't like that. This was a frame, I added knobs to the bottom and a chalkboard in the middle. So shabby and cute I think. I added some crackle, messed it up a bit and it's going in my etsy shop.
This was a cupboard door in it's earlier life. I love beadboard and would like to have it all through my home some day. I painted this a creamy, cottage white, added knobs and some lovely resin floral work to the top and sides.

The Path To Nowhere
Yesterday was a favorite of mine. We woke up to a gentle rain that lasted most of the day. If you read my blog, then you might remember a couple of weeks back that I posted the Queen Creek wash after days of heavy rain. I was not able to ride my bike due to the closure of the riding path. The pictures showed you the creek all dried after the rain. These pictures are from today, and just look at the current. This is where the wash goes from one side to the other. We had a glorious day today of sunshine and weather temps in the low 70's, but I couldn't get across the raging water.
This is the first time in almost 7 years that I have seen moisure in the wash. It is eye candy for sure.
Raging currents with a lot of power.
The sound was amazing and it's something I don't think I would ever tire of. Believe it or not, you could see ducks and hear frogs. It makes you wonder where they hang out all year long when this is dry....hummmmm
Anymore rain and I am sure this path would be under water.
There is a walking path that connects us to another neighborhood, it was the path to nowhere.
A sign says to stay off the path when water is present, gee, do you think??!!
So, what did I do while I was inside all day watching the rain? It's amazing what one can get done when they are in their pjs and in the studio, watching Lifetime movies.......LOVED IT!!
How about making tags for my etsy shop?
And more tags......
Don't stop now, I am on a roll...
You just can't make tags without there being something french.
Last, but certainly not least, I made a hanging sachet for my website. Don't you just love it when you are going thru your "stuff" and you find some treasures that you had forgot you had? That is exactly what happened with this sweet angel image. I didn't want to forget such a beautiful child, so I had to make something with her. I think she would be proud.
