A little Bit About Me

Someplace in Thyme

I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

Wishing All Pinkies A Very Happy Pink Saturday!!

Hello everyone and welcome to Pink Saturday. I have been very busy along with my pinkie elves working in my studio this week. We are creating some beautiful holiday stockings and getting ready for fall.
No, it's never too soon to get organized and ready for what I hope will be a wonderful holiday season. I know, it's hard to think of what's to come, but like last year, I don't want to get caught unprepared.
I put together a sweet collage of past goodies for you this week. I hope you enjoy the pinks I have selected.
Happy Pink Saturday to all of my blogging friends, and friends that I still hope to meet. I wish you all a great weekend. Please be sure to check out all the participants at How Sweet The Sound. Thankyou so much Beverly for all your hard work. We appreciate you!!!

Do You Hear Bells Ringing In Your Ears?

These are just so shabby and very sweet. My latest creation for the holidays/everyday.
Cute bells have been given a shabby and chic makeover with paint, pearlized glitter and paper roses. As you can see, the bell on the top was painted pink, while the second bell was painted a cottage white.

I can't decide which one I love the best. Both would be gorgeous hanging on the Christmas tree, decorating a gift or hanging off a knob.
These would also make great teachers gifts. They can be found on my website, someplaceinthyme.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do making them.

Welcome To Pink Saturday

The weeks seem to be flying by as Saturday comes faster and faster. Altho I know that is not possible, it sure seems to be here quicker than the week before!! HA! Does that mean my birthday will be here before I know it??!! It's not until next year, but lets slow it down, shall we. :)
I have begun creating my stockings and other goodies for the holidays and so thought it was appropriete to showcase them. I am sorry, but this is all the pink for me this week because it's all I have been doing. Is that a good thing?
I love the stocking above and it's already off to a new home.

This sweet stocking is stuffed with lavender and smells so good. I crossed stitched the santa years ago and re-purposed it onto a lovely cameo rose fabric.

Yep, been baking again. I just don't seem to be able to help myself. I hope you are not getting tired of seeing these lovely faux cakes, because I sure do love making them.
Thankyou Beverly of How Sweet The Sound for all you do for us. I appreciate you so much and want to wish all of you a Happy Pink Saturday.
Please check out the Phamilyblog you won't be disapointed. Anne is one of the nicest bloggers and her blog is a great read too.

My Second Edition Bird Tassel~Tweat Tweat

Here is the second bird tassel that I promised you. So romantic and just plain "tweat". Pretty ribbons and fringes too, in lovely colors of yellow, pink and sage green.
I added a pink paper rose to the back, I just couldn't help myself. Very chic if I do say so myself.

There is also some beadwork on this tassel. She would look perfect anywhere.
This tassel and the one before can be found on my website someplace in thyme.

Marty's Cloche Party AND Pink Saturday Too

Thankyou so much Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for this fun cloche party. This is my first one, so we shall see how I do.
My favorite cloche so far with a little faux treat to enjoy. It's just perfect, no fat, no calories and no sugar. Of course, you can't eat it either.....pretty to look at, but then....what's the point??!! HA!

A sweet saucer with a nest of roses, eggs and pretty ribbons. I received the nest as part of a swap. Boy, was I lucky or what. Love the look of this.

See how darn cute this nest is?!

I collect and love hearts, so this was sitting at HomeGoods just waiting for me. I made the faux cake that sits under the cloche.
Here is a close up, so sugary, but not to be eaten. I think my mouth is watering. :(

Just look at the top. Perfect for Pink Saturday. If you would love to check out Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet The Sound, just check her blog and join in the fun.

The Birds Have Come Home To Roost

This is the first of my "bird" series of tassels. I found some of the sweetest ceramic birds and thought, "what great tassels these would make." This one is the first of three.

Have you ever seen such cuteness!!?? This tassel is full and has been made with lots of gorgeous ribbons and fringes. Pom-poms at the top complete the finished look along with a beautiful plaid bow.

The fringes on this tassel came from Linens and Laurel. Nancy has the best selection of fringes that I have seen.
What a sweet addition to any style of home. Use on a key, armoire, hook, peg or lamp.
Tweet, Tweet, Tweet!!
This tassel can be found on my website, SOMEPLACE IN THYME.
The second is coming up soon.

PINK SATURDAY~YIPPEE

Hello to all my pinkie bloggers. It's Saturday and you know what that means. Time to catch up on what you have been up to all week. I can't wait to visit and see what you have created, where you have been and what you have been cooking....lets get started.
As you can see, I baked a cake, well, almost. It's another one of my faux cakes and it won't cost me any sugar, fat or calories. That's the type of cake I like to have on hand....well, not really. The truth is, I would love a great big bite out of a cake like this one!!!! (but real) too bad for me.
I am a member of Etsy Cottage Style and we are just finishing up on a rose swap. Debbi from http://Marionberrycottage.blogspot.com and I were swap partners. Along with several wonderful and beautiful things, Debbi sent me these pretty letters to hang on the wall of my studio. Aren't they just perfect.

Debbi took hard board letters and covered them in beautiful papers and then added all types of vintage lace, buttons, flowers and words. I can't wait to hang them. The three above are a close up of the c, r and the e.

Just look at how pretty the a is. She out did herself and I appreciate the talent and the effort.

As you can see, the a has a pink bauble and some very pretty lace. I am excited to get them up. I am sure they will inspire me to create some lovely things for my website.

Afterall, that's just what the message is, isn't it.
Happy Pink Saturday everyone and I hope you have a fantastic week.
Thankyou Miss Beverly for all you do for us each week. You can find all the pinkies and their blogs on Beverly's blog, How Sweet The Sound. Be sure to visit as many as you can this week, we all appreciate the comments.

COME ON OVER, IT'S A PARTY

We celebrated the 4th Of July on Monday this year, so the whole family could come together. This is the table I set in honor of our countries freedom. The whole day was perfect.
I found her (Ms Hen) at Homegoods. You just have to love that store. She came dressed in her best and ready to serve.

When I was weaving and selling my baskets, I belonged to a club and we used to do swaps. I was on the receiving end of this beauty. Perfection!

Napkins complete the look, but look!!! Red, white and blue cupcakes.....Yummy!!

The cupcake stand you ask? Homegoods again. And it was only $13.00.

I bet you would love to eat one of these goodies right now.......

Is your mouth watering?

Grandpa and Jenna putting together a puzzle. We are blessed and life is good.

After dinner of bar b que ribs, chicken, baked beans, salad and dessert, you just have to take a swim and eat a Popsicle.

Cousins, Allie and Jack.

Jacks twin brother Kyler.

Jack and Kylers mom, our daughter, Kirstin. Yeah, it was a great day.
