I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. Pink Saturday AND A Visit To The Wolf Wildlife Center

Happy Pink Saturday to all my blogging buddies and friends. This weeks post is a little bit off the path of what I usually write and share, but as you know we were gone on vacation last week, and I wanted to share with you a little bit of what we did. We went to visit family in Colorado and one of the things I have always wanted to do there was to visit the wolf wildlife center and sancutary. This time we made it!!! Acres and acres of forrested land dedicated to the safety of wildlife. Just beautiful.......many sad stories, and lots of happy endings. Please enjoy my post today, we had a great time and really enjoyed the cooler temps. I missed all of you last week as well. Please be on the lookout for my next give a way in Sept. I don't know what I will be offering, but I think you will be pleased.

Thankyou to Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for making this Pink Saturday possible for all of us. Please be sure to stop in and visit all the blogs for some wonderful pinkness.....

I am still looking for a wooden statue like this one for my yard. It was donated to the center....great work.

Lots of cosmos blooming everywhere we went. Just too gorgeous for words. I love them, but they don't grow in the desert.....

There was one red and two white fox here that were rescued from a fur farm.....they are gorgeous animals, let me tell you, and smart too. These animals have lots and lots of woods to roam around in. Life is good for them now, thanks to the sancutary and the kind heart of others.

I just wanted to give him a hug........isn't that the sweetest face?? It's sometimes hard to forget these are wild animals.

I love animals, all animals, and believe that if the good lord above put them on this earth with us, they all deserve to have a chance at a good life.

So lovely, and I have to say we were told some very sad stories this day, but not to be repeated in here. Please just enjoy the beauty of these animals and know that they are safe and protected from harm.

Nature is indeed a beautiful thing and thank God there are caring people out there that are willing to help when needed. And now a little bit more pinkness.

My latest creation and listing on ebay, a beautiful holiday stocking. I hope you enjoyed this weeks Pink Saturday post and look forward to visiting you all today and this week. Take care and have a wonderful, safe week ahead.

FALL IS IN THE AIR, CAN YOU FEEL IT!

I started a tradition a couple years ago of placing one mini pumpkin at each place setting on my Thanksgiving Day table. I have to say it was so fun to see my guests go home with a little bit of me.
I love fall and altho I know many of you don't want summer to end, I am excited to jump into the pumpkin patch and get started. I look forward to the gorgeous colors and cooler weather. These make a sweet statement on a side table or shelf. I have also been known to give a set away as a hostess gift........even one would be great.

A touch of glitter on the leaves gives a little holiday spirit.

Each pumpkin measures just under 4" and has a cinnamon stitch for a stem.

If you would like to pick an early harvest, this set of minis can be found here.

HOME FROM VACATION~LOOK WHAT WE SAW

Last week we went to Colorado to visit my husbands family. We stayed with his mother and her husband. This is what we experienced one evening while sitting on the porch. Can you believe this??? We loved it.
I could watch them all day long.

What beautiful creatures. What a show, they jump the fence in and leave the same way.

As you can see, we were not the only ones enjoying the deer~makes you wonder what they were thinking.

PINK SATURDAY AND A GRATEFUL THANKS!!

Don't ya just love the pink hair?? I wanted to show you a little bit of cottage and primitive too. Happy Pink Saturday and thankyou Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for making this possible. I know, I know, I am very early, but I am leaving and will not have access to a computor until I return. I am sorry that I will not be able to visit you until a week from Sunday when I return. Trust me when I say I will be thinking of my blogging friends. I want to say THANKYOU to all of you that entered my give a way last week. You took the time to visit my website and leave me a requested comment. You did this not knowing the reason why. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. The reason I asked, was to find out what was liked and what I could do without. Your help and guidence will be useful in the cottage decor I design and create in the future for my shop. This was very valuable information for me.
I will post the winner of my cottage stocking Sunday morning. Because of the positive response I received, I have decided to do a give a way once a month starting next month and going thru Dec. Please check back and make sure to enter.....now on with Pink Saturday, be sure to visit as many blogs as you can and leave a comment, we all appreciate it so much. Have a great week and see you on Sunday with a lucky winner. I can't wait!!

This raggedy annie doll was handmade by me, and I consider her a primitive. Her body is tea dyed and her clothes are unhemmed with darker colors. Does this made her primitive? That is a great question, but by my defintion, the answer is yes.....

Such a sweet, sweet face. Love the yarn and rag hair. I have to admit I am torn between the two worlds of primitive and cottage. I think we can have it all tho, we should be able to combine the two for the best of both worlds, don't ya think??!!

You know how it goes: I just can't help myself, I love love love tags, any kind of tags, big ones, little ones, cottage, primitive, plain, handmade by me, handmade by you, it doesn't matter, I want them, I have to have them.
I was in the middle of designing a custom order for a customer the other day, when out of the corner of my eye I saw these wonderful images. I thought, what great tags those would make. I needed a break, so I started cutting and pasteing, staining and dyeing. The next thing I knew I had some beautiful tags to show you..WOW, I love the way these look. Please enjoy, if you are interested, I posted them for sale on my Friday Flea Market. It's a very good day today!!

How Many Of Something Creates A Collection?

Have you ever wondered or asked yourself how many of something does it take to make a "collection" of something. People have asked me over the years if I collect anything. My children and my husband get a good laugh from that question because the answer, if I were to be completely honest would have to be "I collect EVERYTHING". More of what I collect on another post. My husband is very much to blame for this collection that seems never ending.
It happened years ago when we were out shopping. We both saw these small stained glass table lamps. I like to call them accent lamps. Way too small for reading, just right in size and enough light to accent a small space with gorgeous color. I liked one, he liked another. (of course, isn't that the way it's suppose to be?!) We couldn't decide, so we took BOTH!! I am and was a very happy woman.........that was the birth of this collection of stained glass lamps. It doesn't however, answer the question of how many items does it take to be considered a collection. In my humble opinion, it isn't one......one is just one. It isn't two......two is a set or a pair of something. That brings me to three, what do you think. If you own three of something, is that a collection? I think so. So it begins, we had two lamps, a set or a pair, but we didn't stop there and it continues still today....oh my!
To think these two lamps started a collection that goes on even today.

We couldn't decide between the two lamps, they are small, accent lamps, so we did what most people would do: we took both!!

Soft, pretty opec colors.

This beauty is in my bedroom in the corner. Wow, I love the colors.

This is probably one of my all time favorites, if not, it's at the top of the list.

Many years ago my mother in law gave us a marble top table that had been in her family since she was a child. My husband told me it was begging to have a stained glass lamp sitting on it. He was right and bought this home one night after work. I love it. There is a wonderful story that goes with the marble top table that I will share with you another day.

A close up so you can see all the details and colors. See what I mean, ya just gotta love them.

When we built this home we had these installed in all the hallways. They are from Home Depot, and pack a gorgeous punch when lite.
My husband surprised me one day with this lamp from Homegoods. What a guy!!

Sitting on an antique butcher block table in the kitchen, this brings a corner to life.

This hangs over our breakfast table in the kitchen and adds a bit of color to the room.

Because it is morning, this lamp is hard to see lite up. The colors are so pretty.

About 7 years ago, we were living in Maryland and there used to be a country antique store that we loved to visit. They sold new and old items, lots of goodies to be had. I came across this beautiful desk lamp and bought it for our anniversary. It now sits behind a sofa in the family room. I am sorry that I am not picking up all the rich colors, it is so pretty.

At night the colors are breathtaking.

I am having trouble getting the colors of this gorgeous lamp to show. They are all my favorites, ambers, golds, browns, greens, all fall colors, rich in hues. I hope you can see them.

I can't say where this will end, but I can tell you that there are yet more gorgeous glass lamps to be found, and where there is a spot on a table, or a ceiling from which to hang, I will want more. I just can't help myself. I hope you enjoyed this post. Take some time to think about your collections and maybe you would like to share them all with the rest of us. Think about it.
