A little Bit About Me

Someplace in Thyme

I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

Happy Spring And Happy Pink Saturday

My garden is beginning to come alive with color. Spring has arrived in AZ and I have proof of it right here! One of my rose trees has two beautiful pink blooms on it and they smell wonderful. I don't know why, but the first blooms of the year always seem to be the best.
This is a new rose that I purchased this year, and I can't believe the petal count. This is the second rose I have seen on this little bush and they are huge. I am in love!!

The week can't go without me creating something for my website. I would like to share with you the above pincushion and handmade pins. Altho I don't use a pincushion like this one, (I can't bring myself to poke it with all those pins) I think they look great just sitting on a table or shelf. These are so much fun to make and decorate any way you like. Vintage lace, faux pearls and a handmade rose.

I couldn't help but turn a pincushion into a tassel. Once you make one tassel, you are hooked. I have tassels hanging on just about everything in my home.......maybe I need to shop for more items to hang them on!! They are addictive. I think I may need to give a tutorial in another post, so you will see what I mean and can be just as much of an addict that I am. What fun we could have sharing our tassel creations.
THANK YOU Beverly for making this possible each week. I know that a lot of work goes into each post and so make sure you visit as many blogs as you can. You will find a list on Beverlys post at How Sweet The Sound.
Be sure to visit Vicki at Bunny Cottage and see what she has been up to. Happy Pink Saturday everyone and I hope you have a great week. I will be off to attend the Canton Flea Market in Texas with a best friend. I will be sure to take lots of pictures to share. Please leave me comments and know that if I don't respond, it's because I am having the time of my life. I appreciate each and everyone of you.

Hi, sweet one,
Your roses are beautiful, and I know they must smell heavenly. Your pin cushion and pin cushion tassel are both exquisite as is all of your creations. You and your friend will have so much fun in Canton!! I haven't been in several years so I think it is about time for another trip. East Texas with the Dogwoods in bloom will be beautiful. Enjoy your trip and thank you for giving me a shout out. Blessings to you! Vicki

The petals in the roses look like it's one endless petal. I like that it's ruffled too!

Your pincushions are just too pretty to use LOL But they will defnitely look great displayed like the tassel - very dainty.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Your pin cushion is so beautiful, romantic and dainty. My taste exactly. Just love it. You ladies all come up with the most beautiful fabric. Wish I could find something so beautiful but in my town we only have a few to pick from. Guess I will start ordering online. Anyhoo, I love your pinks.

Goodness, Char...that pin cushion is lovely, and you know how I love pincushions being a sewer/quilter. I've been making a lot of the crocheted vintage heart ones with the woven ribbon and trying to think of ways to update the look...I think the tassel idea might be just the thing. I'll look forward to your tutorial. Happy Pink Saturday and I'm envious that you are going to Canton....have a fun time...Sue

I can't believe you already have roses! Here in mid-Michigan, we don't even have daffodils yet. But the one in the picture is truly beautiful. Lucky you! And I love the pin-cushion/tassel. You are very talented. Happy Pink Saturday.

Blessings,
Tricia

Char, I only have one rose bush right now and it is blooming with some gorgeous yellow blooms. I would so like to have more, just need more places that aren't in the shade. The pin cushion is just gorgeous. How pretty. I love it. I have been making some, but nothing as fabulous at yours. Love the tassel too. I so agree, they are really addictive. I had such a great time at the tea yesterday and what fun to see old friends and to make new ones. I really look forward to the next one. Have a super sunday. Hugs, Marty

Good Morning Char Sweetie...
What a beautiful time we had yesterday. You and I have got to get together and just spend some girlfriend time together. I so enjoy visiting with you, but we just never have enough at our teas. When I get back from my trip, let's do a girl day.

I have to tell you I am drooling over this precious tassel. I love the pinkeep that you attached, oh my gosh it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. You are so talented sweetie.

I went into you website and spotted with my little eye that pinkeep that has the little tea set on it. You make the most beautiful things. I do NOT know how you do it. So beautiful.

I can't wait to see what you find in Canton. OMG I wish I was going along, but my trip is coming up pretty soon. Please keep an eye out for my egg scale. I just love them, and that is what I am dreaming of. I am going to look for my weights and the little pan for my dough scale while I am back in MD.

Many hugs sweetie and thank you for the wonderful day of love yesterday. It was full of sunshine and happiness wasn't it?

Love ya girl, Sherry

Your flowers are beautiful but that pincushion tassel is to die for! I wish I knew how to make these things as I've seen so many wonderful tassels on so many blogs.
It was nice to meet you yesterday even if we were on opposite ends of the table. Hopefully we will meet again at other AZ blogger events.

Hi Char!
Thanks for commenting on my blog. It made it easier to find you. For some reason I could find your web page but not your blog. I love it. It was so nice to meet you again and I'm looking forward to the next time we all get together. It was such a nice afternoon.

Talk to you soon!

Hi Char. It was nice to meet you on Saturday. It really was a fun time. Thank you for the darling tags. Your roses are beautiful and so is the pin cushion. We have one rose bush and it is pretty right now but gets so stressed every summer in the heat. I'm amazed it lives through it, but it always does. We had about 30 rose bushes when we lived in California.
Hope you are having a good week.
Hugs,
Charlotte
