I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

Pink Saturday AND Happy Halloween

Today was a very special day for me. Many AZ bloggers got together for lunch at Gooseberries Tea Room and I was included. This wonderful group of women have participated in a get together luncheon in the past, but this was my first. I met so many warm and friendly faces, and now I can't wait to look up their blogs. I will be adding them to my sidebar and you are invited to visit each and everyone of them. I want to thank Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for making this pinkie day possible for all of us.
The above teacups are from the teahouse. I have never seen a china teaspoon and thought this was so pretty. It matches the cup and saucer. Did you notice the little salt and pepper shakers? So sweet.

Another cup and saucer in blues and greens with a touch of that special color pink!!

Look! A Mini Mouse Angel!! Could Jenna be any cutier?? We were all surprised that she kept her little ears on!

Allie is a pink Cowgirl and a cutie potootie. Please don't grow up too fast.

Being a grand mother is the best title EVER! I love it more than I can ever say. Sweet sisters ready for a special night of BOOS and SCARY WITCHES!! (and of course, the sweets too)
I hope all of you have a wonderful Pink Saturday and a Happy Halloween.

Hey!! Look What I Found

I decided this week to clean out my entire pantry and the closet in my diningroom. What a job. It amazes me that two people can have so much food. Sadly, I thru out a lot of it due to the fact it was expired. I was sad.........
One of the problems is that because we live in the desert, I don't (or at least I try not to) use the oven. It's just too hot outside and makes the inside unbearable. Before you know it, you just forget what's in there....years go by....like I mentioned, I was sad.
The closet in the dining room became a catch all. I can not understand how two people can amass so many things. The closet became one of those places where you put items you don't use everyday and can just forget about. I figure if that is the case, we don't need them....well.....almost. Look what I found!!! Pumpkin dishes!!! I was very excited, in fact, I jumped up and down, thanked the Gods and unpacked them. They were still in their original boxes. That's another story for another day....

Three years ago my mother surprised me with a set of these bowls. I loved them then, but forgot about them. I didn't use them last year......I didn't remember I had them. They had disappeared into a black hole....

The set consists of a large pumpkin bowl and eight, yes eight smaller pumpkin bowls. I am now going thru my cookbooks to find some wonderful soup recipes so we can use these, before they go back into their boxes and get forgotten all over again...:(

My mother bought them from William Sonoma, I love that store.
I also hung up my gorgeous tassel from the tassel house on etsy. It's a pumpkin with a mini corn cob and oh so gorgeous ribbons, cording and trims.
Yes, my blogger buddies, this fall is going to be a season we all remember.

It's Time For PINK SATURDAY~Yippee!!

Thankyou Beverly from how sweet the sound. Without you and all your hard work, this wonderful get together each week would not be possible.
We are in the middle of moving my mother from her home 30 minutes from us, to her new home just 10 minutes from us. This is a very exciting time and the big move with the trucks is this weekend. That being said, I want to THANK all of you that have become blogger friends and buddies over time. I want you to know how much I appreciate your comments and your friendship. I will visit each of you this week, but need to warn you that I will be late. Please forgive me, but I will be away from the computor this weekend. I will visit you as soon as I can and see what you have been up to.
I spent the week getting into holiday ornament mode for my website. That is what I am sharing with you this week.
The above ornaments are snowmen, made of wood, painted and sugared with glitter, then dressed up with jewels and roses. So cute and would look great on gifts too.

Four gingerbread men, two pink and two white, but these are not for eating.....altho without the hangers, they would make great faux cookies on a special plate.
The holidays would not be complete without candy canes, even if they are unediable.
Lastly, we have stockings, and four of them complete this set.
All this and more can be found HERE.
Please be sure to visit http://shabbylaneshops.blogspot.com/ and leave a comment so you will be entered into the giveaway. You will not be sorry.....

CANDY CORN: GET YOUR CANDY CORN HERE!!

We were at California adventures and it was totally decorated for Halloween. Candycorn was everywhere and was a sweet tooths paradise. Candy anyone??
How about the Golden Gate bridge with candycorn strung across it.....sounds good to me!

I would love to travel down the roads of rural America and see candycorn growing on farms....yumO

A walk in the desert and look was is growing in place of flowers....amazing.

Somebody help me, I can't believe what I see!!! These are like Lay's potato chips, you can't eat just one. I also love the orange mini pumpkins you can buy now, but unlike the pumpkins, you can find candycorn all year long. How lucky are we??

I bet you didn't know that candycorn grows on corn stalks did you??!!

See? I told you.
It grows in fields too.

And on trees......
I wonder what nursery carries these plants, I want some.

Yep, it's a magical place, that's for sure.

Tuesday Treasures

This weeks Tuesday Treasures theme is "around the holiday table". I am using fall for this day as Halloween and Thanksgiving will be here before Christmas. I am still busy harvesting my mini pumpkins, but time is running out. If you want one or more, now is the time. These make great hostess gifts, and are adorable on the table. I like to place one in front of each plate, after dinner my guests can take their's home as a reminder of a wonderful feast, and as a thankyou for coming. You can find my pumpkins on my website SOMEPLACEINTHYME.

Happy Pink Saturday to all my pinkie friends in blogland. Thankyou to Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for making all this pink happiness possible each and every week.

I want to share with you this week what I came across on etsy. This gorgeous tassle is from Angela at The Tassle House on etsy. I feel so fortunate to have found her. Angela's work is so beautiful that I wanted to show my latest purchase. This is the sweetest tassle featuring a snowman. I know that I will want to keep her out all year long.

You just have to love this face. So sweet, and pink too!

Beautiful ribbons, cording and beadwork.

I can't stop admiring this. I have sewn and crafted my whole life ( trust me when I say, that's a very long time) :) but I can not figure out how Angela did this wonderful work......thankyou, I feel so lucky....

Disneyland In October BEAUTIFUL

My husband and I had the luck and the opportunity to take a trip to Disneyland with our daughter, Kirstin, her husband Pepe and their twin boys. We had such a great time and as you can see, the park was decorated for fall, my favorite season of all.
Pumpkins were everywhere, Pluto pumpkins, Mickey pumpkins, Donald and Goofy too.

This was at the entrance to the park, just behind the train station and the start of Main Street. Yoohoo! We can't wait to get started.

A giant Mickey Mouse welcomes everyone as they enter. What a photo opt.

Main Street was decorated with fall banners and pumpkins.

As many times as I have visited Disneyland, I don't think I have ever gone in October. I will go again during this time of year, it's just too pretty not to.

Outside of Mr. Toads wild ride was Kirstin and the boys, Jack and Kyler. This was their first trip to the magic kingdom.......but it won't be their last!!! :)

I think they would rather be "riding the ride" then having their picture taken. What child wouldn't??!!

Ahhhh, hanging spanish moss outside the Haunted Mansion. This attraction was made for Halloween and decorated through out. It was a site to see and I prefered it much better than during the year. If you are no stranger to Jack and Sally from a Nightmare Before Christmas, then you would love this attraction now.
The roof top of the mansion had pumpkins, skulls, candles and so much more.

The candles come on in the evening, just imagine how fantastic is looks at night.
Now, I would love one of these wreaths on my front door. Notice the spider webs behind the wreaths.

Vines painted black were wrapped all around the lamps, mini pumpkins too.

Jack is there to greet you.

Lots of pumpkins at the base of Jack.
Here he is at the entrance gate to the mansion. I want one!!

Quite the center piece, so sorry for the blur, I was moving in line.

Pumpkins on the hill around the mansion, they have candles in them that lite up at night after dark.......so cool.
A little bit of what they look like lite up. You need to use your imagination, ok?

Is Christmas here yet???
