I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

Happy Pink Saturday Everyone

A sweet treat for anyone that is watching their waistline. No fat, no calories and no sugar added. I have just created my first faux piece of chocolate cake. This little goodie has been iced and decorated and awaits a special place for display.
Three nice layers of dark chocolate, what more could a girl ask for?! Maybe taste? ha ha

Yep, I am on a tassel role. I can't help myself, I just love these. I keep finding more interesting toppers and even think about these little cuties in my sleep. Someone please help me!! I do believe I will be giving these as gifts to the family this year during the holidays. Now, that's a wonderful excuse to keep making them.

So shabby cute in pink, brown and black.

A little birdie has already moved in and even planted roses. Too bad they are made of paper.
Thank you Beverly for another wonderful pink Saturday. You can find all the participants for this week on Beverly's blog, How Sweet The Sound. Please visit as many blogs as you can, they are all great. Happy Pink Saturday everyone. If you are interested in today's offerings, you can find them on my website, someplace in thyme. Have a great week, be safe, and be happy.

BIRD + HOUSE = TASSEL

Can a home have too many tassels?? Boy, I sure hope not because my home is filled with lots of these beauties. I love them.

This tassel has a wooden birdhouse on the top with pink rose decals and paper roses too. I don't think a house is a home with out someone living there, so I added a sweet little friend.

Lots of pretty ribbons and some fringe make this a very colorful and pretty adornment to any room.

Small paper roses at the top and a couple on the sides add a little bit of romance.

I hope you enjoy seeing my latest creation. She is for sale on my website: someplace in thyme.

WHERE BLOGGERS CREATE AND PINK SATURDAY

Thank you so Karen Valentine for hosting this wonderful event: Where Bloggers Create. Please check out Karen's blog My Desert Cottage for the list of participants.

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home. This is the room where I make all the magic happen. I literally took over the game room upstairs and here it is. It's a mixed up collection of many things gathered along the journey of 38 years of life together. It's not coordinated, or decorated nicely, but it's my home away from home, and I love it.

That's not to say I wouldn't change anything, but when I am in this magical place, I don't think about changing the decor, because my mind is on simply creating something beautiful.

A computer table along with a desk from the 1970" give me lots of space for my machines and scrap booking supplies.

This is the table I use for cutting fabrics, sugaring faux treats and painting. Behind this table is an antique cabinet that was purchased in Maryland in the early 2000's that I found at an auction. I have often thought of painting this piece, but just never seem to find the time.

The view from behind my cutting table. Of course I have to have a T.V. to keep my head clear.

This maple table and chairs once belonged to my in laws. I can still see my father in law sitting in the kitchen sipping coffee and reading the morning paper. I now use this for wrapping your pretty goodies and getting ready for the mail. I could not part with this, it has my heart.

The desk where I create my tags and do much of my handwork. Sometimes you can find me sitting on the sofa behind, just chilling.

You have to have an assortment of scissors and other fun items too.

My first sewing machine. I still use this today and I received it in 1972. It may not be fancy, but it runs as good as ever.

A newer model where I sew most items from. This enables me to do many more stitches and fancy ones too!

A sweet wooden box that holds lots of goodies. Doesn't everyone have one of these?

Just some of my ribbons that I use for tassels and wrapping sold items.

Love those storage boxes and can't get enough. The sewing box on the right was a wedding gift from many, many years ago. Gesh, time flies!

I am not a painter by any stretch of the imagination, but I love to make faux treats and you have to have paint.

Supplies for my stained glass projects.

Markers and other necessities.

Would you like to sit and chat awhile? I have some great reading material for you.

Lots of storage, seems that's the one thing I never have enough of. sigh

Love, love, love this book. Lots of great information on many talented women. If you haven't read this, you should.

Happy Pink Saturday everyone. Thank you once again sweet Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for hosting this each and every week.

This week I have another tassel for you, made from a vintage spindle. Hope you like it. Springs colors and beautiful ribbons can be found on my website someplace in thyme.

Have a wonderful week my pinkie friends and Happy Pink Saturday!!

Sweet Treats: Fat Free, Sugar Free & Calorie Free!

Wouldn't life on earth be perfect if you could eat a cupcake or cookie that was totally fat, sugar and calorie free!? Just like the cupcake pictured above....I would love to take a bite out of that pink sugary goodness....only it's fake!! Yup, faux, fake, no good to eat, but beautiful to look at.

Just gaze upon all the lovely roses. They are fake too. I baked, well made these sweet treats over the weekend and I had so much fun. This pink cupcake could be strawberry if you use your imagination....

Maybe you would prefer vanilla.........Yum

How about a set of three small cookies made into heart shapes. Yummy goodness!

Grab a cup of something hot and relax with a pretty teacup and something else pretty to look at. I made this cookie to look like it had a sweet filling....see the pink icing in the middle.

Pretty blooms grace the top.....

You also have your choice of four sugar cookies in the shape of hearts with roses and faux sugar on top. Aren't these just the cutest cookies. I love making these, they require no mixing and no hot oven.....

They make a pretty display in your dining room, kitchen or any room you need a little bling. If you place them in a guest room, just make sure your guests know not to munch down on one......they would surely have a surprise, and probably be very disappointed too.
A shabby close up, looks good doesn't it? These can be found on my website SOMEPLACE IN THYME later today.

Pink Saturday And A Re-Run Of The Past

Well, I have no idea where this week has gone or what I have done with my time, but I find myself in front of the computor on Friday eve and not prepared for my favorite day of the week, Saturday, which means Pink Saturday. I have chosen to put together some of my past items for you to enjoy. I promise to be better prepared next week, in the meantime, enjoy........
A very pretty hanging pillow with a sweet bird and vintage lace and buttons.

A sachet filled with lavender buds, oh does this smell sooooo yummy!! Matching tag too.

Lovely pillow with matching tag, vintage lace and florals.

I love the roses on this, taken from a vintage postcard from long, long ago. Shabby and chic too.

Patch work pillow made with beautiful fabrics.

Gorgeous sunset at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico......oh, would love to be there right now.....

Last but not least, a pretty rose from my garden this year......Happy Pink Saturday everyone and thankyou so much Beverly from How Sweet The Sound. We wouldn't have this much fun if it weren't for you and all the time you put into this perfect group of pinkie friends.

Pink Roses On Black Pillow

I don't know what it is, but I love the combination of pink and black together. I also love making roll pillows......so this was a fit for me, made in heaven you might say. I wasn't sure what to do with the sweet ruffles on the end. I thought about eyelet lace, but really did not want that much white, soooooo I decided on a plain black. I think it looks perfect.
I could have called it finished and let it go. As you can see, I didn't do that, but added lots of blooms to both ends. Some roses are silk, some are paper, one is handmade, and there are others flowers to add some texture. Beadwork too, you just have to have some beadwork for movement. I also like to use ribbon, I think it gives a certain softness.

Each end has a bouquet of pink roses.......yep, it's that pink and black thing that I just love so much.
This and more can be found on my website, someplace in thyme. Do you have a favorite color combination?
