A little Bit About Me

Someplace in Thyme

I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

Pink Saturday~Lets Have Some Fun

This week has been a very busy one for me. Altho I stated a few weeks back that I no longer wanted to showcase my work on this blog, but instead to leave it on Someplace In Thyme2, I find that my world right now is dominated by rich, dark colors, and sadly no pastels.

These stockings are all a special order from a customer and therefore they are already sold. I still have two more to make. These seemed like the perfect fit for Pink Saturday, so I hope you enjoy what I am showing you this week.

As most of you know, I am a floral designer and have said many times that I love to work in chaos! HA! Well, I took a big step of faith and am going to show you just what I mean. After creating three stockings, this is what my work table looks like. YIKES!! :)

I know, it's sad, but it's all me. You can see my little space for doing some actual work. My mother has no idea how I can do anything with all the mess around me, but it works. After I finish up the next two stockings, I will fold and put everything away, clean and be ready for the next round. Even the mess fits the theme of today......lots of pinks there!!!
Thank you Ms. Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for once again bringing us all together and making it looks so effortless. Be sure to check out all the pinkie participants this week HERE. And don't forget to get those mamos girlfriends.

PINK SATURDAY

It's that time of the week when once again all the pinkies in blogland get together to talk....."pink". This week I am celebrating pie from The Village Inn. For those of you that have a Village Inn near you, you already know that not only do they serve wonderful and delicious food, but they have the best pie ever.
In recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Village Inn has come out with this incredible pie......chocolate and pink!!!! Perfect.
Make sure all of you take advantage of not only the pie, but the mamos too!!! Better yet, get your mamo, and then follow up with a yummy piece of pie afterwards.........make your appointments ladies....
Thank you Beverly for all you do for us. We appreciate you more than you know. You can find Ms. Beverly at How Sweet The Sound and also all this weeks participants. Go have a visit and Happy Pink Saturday.

FALL DECORATING IN THE DESERT

This is the view of my front door. I bought this beautiful wreath at Home Goods last year. I am in love with the variety of pumpkins and the colors.

Such a pretty wreath, I would love to keep it up all year long, but I guess my neighbors may not like that. I had my Easter wreath up all summer due to my accident. Everyone must have thought I had lost my mind. Can you just imagine an egg wreath in July when it's over 105 degrees outside. HA! Oh well, at least I gave everyone something to talk about!

Of course you have to have some pumpkins at the door too. These are being watched over by a sweet bear with a welcome sign. He is there all year long with a smile on his face. He must love what he does.

Oh course, you have to have someone watch over the pumpkins and keep them from the crows, right?

Somehow this guy looks too cute to be taking my pumpkins, or maybe he is welcomeing  his friends to help themselves........hummmm

Colorful mums are aways a welcome sight and the colors are perfect.

Fall leaves wrapped around a porch railing.

Another wreath graces my gate to the entrance of my front porch.

More pumpkins, but also some pods, cones and berries.

Don't you just love this time of year? I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of my desert colors and will come back later for some of my Halloween decorations.

Lets Party With The Animals!!!

This past Sat. was our grand daughter Jenna's second birthday. Her parents, (our son Tim and our daughter in law Amber) thought it would be a great birthday celebration to have a petting zoo in their yard....they were right! It was a blast for young and old, oops, did I say old? HA!

As you can see, one of the animals was a pony and Jenna loved him. Lets go for a ride party girl.

Big sister's Allies turn. Could Allie be any cuter? Why do they have to grow up so fast?

Allie will be five in Dec. It seems as though we just welcomed this little one into our lives yesterday.

Cousin Kyler takes a turn. That's our daughter Kirstin. Kyler is a twin. How did we become so blessed?

Brother Jack isn't too sure about this pony, but in the end, I think he loved it.

I was impressed with the way the petting zoo was organized. I thought the animals would just be running free, but the person in charge told me you would never catch them to leave at the end of the day. Gesh, I never thought of that!!!!
They brought: a cow (you can see the grey animal in the above picture....it's a small cow) two goats, two chickens, two rabbits, two pot bellied pigs and the pony.
Notice Jenna's shirt? It says Birthday Girl.

One of the pigs and two chickens.

What a perfect cheesy smile....

OK, admit it, you can't beat this face!!!

Jack loving it all.

I think the expression on Kyler's face says it all....well, almost. Turns out there was a BIGGER surprise in the waiting. Do you see it? It took me a long time.....

Do you see what's on the back of Jenna's shirt??? YIPPEE, what a perfect end to a perfect day. It was all magical and we can't wait to see what the future holds for us all.

PINK SATURDAY AND HELLO BLOGGER FRIENDS

What can you do with a cute pair of these baby shoes? I bought these at an antique market while we were in Colorado last August. I thought they were so sweet, and makes you wonder what the little bundle of joy was like that wore them. So, back to the question at hand.......

Well, I suppose you could make this! Pink rose decals on the sides and pretty pink ribbons lace her up. Paper roses, vintage lace and an adorable teddy bear too.

Short, but sweet this week. Hope you all have a very Happy Pink Saturday. Thank you so much Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for putting all this pinkness together this week. Please visit Beverly for the list of pinkies so you can visit everyone.
Don't forget, this is breast cancer awareness month....get your mamos!!!

A TRIP TO HOME GOODS

Home Goods was calling to me until finally I just had to give in. :) It was the ultimate sacrifice to make, but I made it anyway. HA! The pumpkin soup tureen and bowls are a gift from my mom. They are from William Sonoma and I have had them for a couple of years. I love them. I made the little pumpkin in the front, but the tall arrangement standing in the back is a find from Home Goods.
I love the sticks are the arrangement at the top is just beautiful. Pumpkins, gourds, sunflowers etc had me at first site.

Ooooh, just look at that. It wasn't only calling me....it had my name on it!!! LOVE those rich and deep colors of fall.

This almost looks real, doesn't it?

Yep, it's going to be hard to pack this little goodie away....boo hoo!

I also found this perfect table runner. Would you believe it was only $12.99?! The color was spot on for my dining room table.

Ah, just look at the fine fringe. I think I deserve a pat on the back for this one. If I go back, I may have to see if I can find another runner. Wouldn't this make the best give a way??? Hmmmmm, what a great idea.

I couldn't resist these two pedestals. The smaller one on top was only $9.99 and the larger one was $14.99. I was thinking how pretty these would be on the holiday table. A cheese ball on the smaller one and maybe cookies or a holiday cake on the larger one.
So, that was my day of shopping in one of my favorite places. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

A NEW BLOG

After some very careful consideration, I have decided to open a new blog to showcase my creations and post what I have been up to.
I have felt that my blog Someplace in Thyme has become so much of "what" I do, instead of "who" I am that it was  time to separate them.
So, that being said, if you are interested at all in anything I create, or want to know what I have been up to as far as crafting, please visit me, follow me, or leave me a comment on the new blog, Someplace In Thyme2.
That's easy, isn't it? :)
I owe a huge THANK YOU to Debbi of Marionberry Cottage for designing my blog and always being there when I need her. She is a friend and I am grateful to know her.  You can click on the link and visit her blog which will take you to Debbi's website and business blog also.
I hope to share with you, "more" of me alone with my life, home and garden. I now feel the pressure is on to keep you coming back and not be bored. I really don't think my life is that exciting, but only you can tell. Bare with me, we are going on a ride, and hopefully you will find it lots of fun.

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY

Wouldn't you just love to take a bite out of this pretty sweet? Makes my mouth water just to think about eating it all up! :)
But you can't!! Once again I give you a little taste of faux food. Not, and let me say it again, not edible.....so sad, isn't it. I would like to eat the frosting right off of the little minis........I could just pop them in my mouth and be done with it.
Wouldn't taste good though, no sugar and certainly no taste. Have you ever had the experience of going into a pastry shop in Europe........ones with the decorated delights that you can't live without???? One bite and you wonder what happened. You see, they don't like sugar like we do here in America. When you see rich, whipped cream on desserts, it's not sweetened to the extent that we sweeter ours. Healthier you say, yes it is but if you got caught off guard, you were in for a big surprise. Needless to say, it doesn't take long to appreciate the perfect flavor without all the sugary goodness.
All this beautiful dessert is served up on a gorgeous, made in England, bone china dessert plate. But wait, there is another surprise......I attached this plate to a glass candle holder and turned it all into a pedestal!!! Yep, that's right and it's easy to do. Simple find a bottom that you like and glue them together. If I can do it, so can you.
See how pretty that looks. I hope you enjoyed my selection for this week. I know that this is the beginning of breast cancer month. Please be sure to check yourself and get checked. This is one thing you don't want to miss. Very important to get early detection and prevention of this ugly disease.
THANK YOU so much Ms. Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for once again working so hard to bring us all together this weekend. Be sure to check out the participants and visit as many as you can. We all love to get visitors and comments too.
