A little Bit About Me

Someplace in Thyme

I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

Pink Saturday And A Tribute To Angels On Earth

This is a very special week for Pink Saturday. We are joining Kelee at the Katillac Shack for a miracle party blog. This miracle party blog is to celebrate Colette's recovery from cancer  and to comment and thank Guidepost for sponsoring Colette's beautiful room makeover.
Please go over to http://www.katillacshack.com/ to view this very inspirational video and make sure to leave a comment. For each comment, a dollar donation will be given.

Beverly asked each of us to give an inspirational message, thought or memory. My sister in law sent this to me this morning and I thought it was just perfect. I hope you enjoy it.

THE RAIN

It was a busy morning, around 8:30 when an eldering gentleman about in his 80's
arrived to have stitiches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had
an appointment at 9:00 a.m.
I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before
he would be seen. I saw him looking at his watch and decided since I was not busy with
another patient, I would evaluate his wound.  On exam, it was well healed, so I spoke with
one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures, and redress the wound.
While re-dressing his wound, I asked him if he had another doctors appt this morning as he was
in a hurry. He replied no, and that he needed to go to the nursing home to have breakfast with his
wife. I inquired as to her health and was told she had been there for quite a while, and that she was
a victum of Alzheimer's Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he were late. He replied
that she no longer knew who he was and had not recognized him in over 5 years.
I was surprised and asked him, "and you still go even tho she hasn't recognized you in over 5 years?"
He smiled, patted my hand and said "she doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arms, and thought, "this is the kind of
love I want in my life." True love is neither physical nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all
that is, has been, will be and will not be.
The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything
that they have.
"Life isn't about how to survive the storm, it's about how to dance in the rain."

Thankyou Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for not only Pink Saturday, but for helping share with the world a most generous and giving people.
Please keep the comments coming because each one contributes to a much worthing cause. Congratulations Colette on your recovery and Thankyou so much to all that have contributed.
Happy Pink Saturday

I too am recovering from several breast cancer surgeries & treatment this year.
My Miracle???
It would never have been found except for a routine mammogram & a very aggressive surgeon!!
Have a Great Weekend!

Hi Char, I love your post today. It made me think about some of the people in the nursing home that I would see as I visited my hubby while he was recuperating from a broken ankle a couple years ago. You see the love there and it never goes a way. Thanks for sharing. Your Missouri Friend.

I love this story. I have read it previously but it always makes me so emotional. Last year my son moved out with a friend and I found these sweet signs at the dollar store. One of them was the dancing in the rain quote and I gave it to my middle daughter. She is a dancing in the rain kinda gal like her mom! I really love this post Char. Thank you.

Hi Char, what a lovely story! Thank you for taking the time to write it out. It put tears in my eyes. But the darn "D" word has been here since I got up so it's not the first tears the day.

Anyway, it's a beautiful story. And thank you for visiting my blog!

Happy Pink Saturday, Charlotte Katherine. Thank you for making Pink Saturday special, and for taking part in this day of celebration and thanks.

There truly are miracles going on all around us every day. We just have to open our hearts in acceptance.

True love is such a gift. For better, for worse. For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health.

What a very sweet story! It is rare in my generation to find loyalty like that, too much of the love for a while and move on. How great to be so devoted! Thanks for sharing!
