My husband and I thought we were suppose to be "man's best friend", but clearly you can see that is not the case in our home. Cody, the dog, and I might add, our baby, seems to prefer his brother, Linus, aka the cat.
This happens almost nightly. Cody grooms Linus, then Linus returns the favor with a grooming, cat style. I will have to get some photos of that for you to witness.
I am sorry I don't have the photos for you to see now, there is nothing quite so cute as a cat cleaning the inside of a 100lb dog's ears!! HA
In our home, when you put on a nature show on T.V, this is what you get!! REALLY!!??

I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

Pink Saturday With My Grand Daughter
I spent a wonderful day with my grand daughter Jenna. We went out shopping and for lunch. Here we are buying her some shoes.....
Aren't these just the cutest shoes you have ever seen??!! They never had shoes like this when I was a child, nor did they have them when my children were small.
How about some ice-cream for dessert, yep, that's a great idea.
Thank you Jenna for hanging out with me today. I had a perfect day.
Thank you Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for making another beautiful Pink Saturday possible.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Changing Her Up
It's that time of year when it's still winter, but there is enough warm days to make you want to begin cleaning and moving your nest around. That is what I have begun to do with my kitchen.....move things around, kind of like starting over.
By my stove top I have a piece of pottery that my daughter made me while she was in grade school. I use it to hold those much needed cooking utensils. A pot from a trip to the VA hills holds my wooden spoons and Polish pottery keeps my everyday items close by. All this needs to be cleaned a couple times a year, at least.
A favorite platter and canisters get moved to a new area of the counter, just for a change.
Love this cookbook!
Cookbooks are a weakness of mine. I just can't seem to get enough. Do you also have that problem?
Just too cute.
My swap partner used dyed reed to weave this basket and the colors could not have been nicer.
Did you know that if you have a basket made from willow, it will grow pussy willows? Yep, it's true, especially if you live where it's humid. If you look closely at the little willow mini basket in this picture, you can see a little pussy willow on the left hand side.
I hope you have enjoyed a little tour of what I have been up to so far this week, more to come.

I just added this two cutie pies to my kitchen today. They fit in perfectly.
This rooster was a gift from my son many years ago. I love his coloring and he has become my kitchen mascot.
Although I am not showing you the top of this sweetie pie, it's a candle with a ceramic top. This gives me a little color in an otherwise non exciting corner.
Hanging on the side of my pantry, between my refrigerator, I have a collection of mini baskets. I have never used them, but think they add texture and are just so pretty to look at. I am a weaver and have been weaving baskets for many years, I never tire of seeing them. The colorful basket you see at the bottom was given to me during a basket swap. That was so fun!

There is a rumor going around the blogs that I have a chef! I do, but he doesn't cook!! :)
He doesn't eat either and just look at that face.....he is so cute!!I hope you have enjoyed a little tour of what I have been up to so far this week, more to come.

HIPPITY HOPPITY PINK SATURDAY IS ON IT'S WAY
Now that Valentine's Day is behind us, we can begin to ready ourselves for my favorite holiday: Easter! Not only is spring on it's way, so are the bunny's.....chocolate ones, marshmallow ones, bunnies of all kinds and eggs too.
In celebration, I have created a lovely tassel with not only some pinks, but lots of spring colors.
I even painted a carrot pink!! Who would have thought?! :)
I didn't get as much done this week as I would have liked. I caught "pink eye" and so thought it best to give my eyes some much needed rest. It's almost cleared up with the help of some antibiotic.
I did manage to design and create this pretty sachet. Lots of pinks on her for you to enjoy.
I know most of you are very familiar with this lovely lady. You can find her on many headers, pillows, tags and just about everywhere you look. It's easy to see why, she is gorgeous, pretty pink cheeks, creamy skin and a beautiful hat.
I just happened to use her image on a new sachet. I hope you like it and I also hope I did her justice.
I have no pink roses, or roses of any kind in my garden right now, but here are some handmade pink, white and two toned paper roses......
I thought this very vintage pink lace was also perfect for this weeks "pink."
Thank you so much Ms. Beverly for once again bringing us all together to share our pinks. You too can be a part of Pink Saturday by visiting Beverly's blog How Sweet The Sound. You will find all the list of participants there as well. Please hop on over and join the fun, we are looking forward to seeing what you have been up too. Thanks so much for stopping by. I love your comments, so be sure to leave one for me.

What's In Your Cupboard? Come Join The Etsy Cottage Style Fun!
We at Etsy Cottage Style want to see what's in your cabinets....so, if you have a cottage collection behind wood, glass, or anything else, please show us!! Link with me and lets see what you are hiding. Now is the time to bring it all out. Today I am showing off some of my pitcher collection. Most of my pieces have been picked up on our travels, enjoy.
All of these are handmade, some from France and Germany, others from artists in the old ole U.S.A.
We bought this wine pitcher at a winery in France. It's very heavy, and holds the cold temps well.
The tall pitcher in the back is a Polish Pottery pitcher, the one in the front is from the great state of Virginia. I love to use it for maple syrup on the weekends.....pancakes and waffles, yumO!
These are from Germany, the large one in the back is wonderful for spirits :) or lemonade in the summer, the smaller one is perfect for gravy.
I feel very lucky to have found this little goodies. It's a warmer and I use it for apples and caramel. You probably could also use it for melted cheese, but I have not tried that yet.
You can tell by the colors that this goodie came from Italy. Great for juices and also sometimes I use these for holding my fresh cut flowers too.
Love the colors.....
Although this little Italian pretty is a water pitcher, I never use it for that. It just sits on the shelf and says "look at me."
If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be this one. Not only do I have a pitcher, but there is a matching bowl and platter....love that.
You can probably guess what this gets used for, especially in the spring and summer when the lemons are ripe.
I hope you enjoyed a peek into one of my cupboards. I can't wait to see what's inside yours.
Please join in and lets have some fun.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
Some homemade sugar cookies, decorated with colored sugar and of course, some chocolate. Very easy and so yummy too.
One of my favorite flowers is stock. Not only do these smell heavenly, they last a very long time too. I placed them in a Polish Pottery pitcher.....love the shamrocks, and another holiday will be here soon, St. Patricks!!
Each bloom is so pretty and the scent is, well, just wonderful and fresh.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all. I hope your day is filled with flowers, chocolate and most of all, love.

TWICE BLESSED
It always amazes me when someone tells me how much they enjoy my blog. Often I can't help but wonder "why?" I don't find my day to day life all that interesting. I have been married going on 38 wonderful years, to the same wonderful man. I have children, and I have grandchildren. I run my own online website and create the items I sell. Is that really any different from anyone else, I just have to wonder........
So, when someone comes to my blog and tells me they think I deserve something special, I feel very blessed and honored. But now, I am twice blessed, that's right......before I left for our nieces babyshower a couple of weeks ago, Cat from Tattered Rebel gave me this award. Because I was gone, my response had to wait. In the meantime, Rita from Rita Shabby Chic Roses also honored my blog with this award. Thank you so much ladies. Now it's my turn to pass this along.
A bit about me that you may not know:
I live in the desert, although I am a forest person.
I am loyal to a fault.
My favorite color is yellow, although I belong to Pink Saturday.
I like deep, dark, rich colors.
My favorite season is fall.
I have traveled the world.
Being a grandmother is the best job in the world.
I am passing this lovely award to the following beautiful blogs,
Karyn from French Charming
Helene from HeleneFlont
Sonny from 155 Dream Lane
Maureen from A Rose Without A Thorn
Kirstin from Aroca Family
Tracie from Fishtail Cottage
Lisa from Pink Porches
