A little Bit About Me

Someplace in Thyme

I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

WHERE BLOGGERS CREATE AND PINK SATURDAY

Thank you so Karen Valentine for hosting this wonderful event: Where Bloggers Create. Please check out Karen's blog My Desert Cottage for the list of participants.

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home. This is the room where I make all the magic happen. I literally took over the game room upstairs and here it is. It's a mixed up collection of many things gathered along the journey of 38 years of life together. It's not coordinated, or decorated nicely, but it's my home away from home, and I love it.

That's not to say I wouldn't change anything, but when I am in this magical place, I don't think about changing the decor, because my mind is on simply creating something beautiful.

A computer table along with a desk from the 1970" give me lots of space for my machines and scrap booking supplies.

This is the table I use for cutting fabrics, sugaring faux treats and painting. Behind this table is an antique cabinet that was purchased in Maryland in the early 2000's that I found at an auction. I have often thought of painting this piece, but just never seem to find the time.

The view from behind my cutting table. Of course I have to have a T.V. to keep my head clear.

This maple table and chairs once belonged to my in laws. I can still see my father in law sitting in the kitchen sipping coffee and reading the morning paper. I now use this for wrapping your pretty goodies and getting ready for the mail. I could not part with this, it has my heart.

The desk where I create my tags and do much of my handwork. Sometimes you can find me sitting on the sofa behind, just chilling.

You have to have an assortment of scissors and other fun items too.

My first sewing machine. I still use this today and I received it in 1972. It may not be fancy, but it runs as good as ever.

A newer model where I sew most items from. This enables me to do many more stitches and fancy ones too!

A sweet wooden box that holds lots of goodies. Doesn't everyone have one of these?

Just some of my ribbons that I use for tassels and wrapping sold items.

Love those storage boxes and can't get enough. The sewing box on the right was a wedding gift from many, many years ago. Gesh, time flies!

I am not a painter by any stretch of the imagination, but I love to make faux treats and you have to have paint.

Supplies for my stained glass projects.

Markers and other necessities.

Would you like to sit and chat awhile? I have some great reading material for you.

Lots of storage, seems that's the one thing I never have enough of. sigh

Love, love, love this book. Lots of great information on many talented women. If you haven't read this, you should.

Happy Pink Saturday everyone. Thank you once again sweet Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for hosting this each and every week.

This week I have another tassel for you, made from a vintage spindle. Hope you like it. Springs colors and beautiful ribbons can be found on my website someplace in thyme.

Have a wonderful week my pinkie friends and Happy Pink Saturday!!

Fun to see where you create!!

I can just "feel" being there, relaxing and creating, just like my room in Dallas! I love that you are surrounded by things you love. Have you seen the new cooking channel? It's keeping me company while I prepare and I suppose will when I create again.

Mark started his semi-conductor career with Nikon in San Bruno 26 years ago. His friend from high school is still with Nikon and we have many other friends collected over the years that live in the area. We spent one year in San Jose, so this is a return to the beginning.

We plan to take the southern route through Phoenix on our way out. The scenery was just so beautiful last time. Hope we can meet up for a cup of coffee at least. August?

Love your GREAT SPACE, Char! What I wouldn't give to have that much room! Fan-tab-ulous!

We hope to have a new studio built for me this year. Just don't know yet if I want to spend the bucks. Much to think about but I would LOVE to have a space without CARPET where everything could be together in one room.

Thanks for sharing sweets!

Hi Char :) You have a great space there to work in! Lots of room to "spread your elbows" in. I have a radio in my room, no tv. If I had a tv in there, I would spend more time watching it then what I was working on, lol !

Thanks for inviting us into your creative world....and wishing you a Happy Pink Saturday my friend :)

I'm with you on those gorgeous storage boxes. They are SO pretty, and one can never have enough of them.

Your room is so beautifully organized. I no longer have a craft room. I did...but since my husband has discovered his love for woodworking, he has taken over my craft room. Oh, he has a shop where he does his work, but he needs MY room for his finished work and craft show stuff (tables, awning, plastic boxes, etc.) So, I have to do my scrapbooking at the kitchen table. But, hey, it's better than nothing, right?

Have a lovely pink weekend.

Blessings,
Patti (Fill My Cup with Beauty)

Nice to have your crafting area near the tv and comfortable sofa :-) Maybe when you a little tired from nonstop creating, you get to relax too.

And as I can see, you have lots so it is safe to say the creative flow just keeps on flowing with all the available materials :-)

I love the table (from you father-in-law). I think it is a unique one where it looks like it halved but most of all, I like the story that goes with it :-)

Li

Your room is lovely, and I am so glad you shared it! I think it's wonderful to have mementos of your 38 years together and they add so much charm to your room. I especially like the way you store your ribbon and think I should adopt that strategy - mine is always a tangled mess. Thank you for your kind words about Bozzy - we love him too! we adopted him from the Animal Shelter when we lived in the Yukon - he had been abandoned in the dead of the coldest winter in 60 years. He lost his ears, the end of his tail and the ordeal stunted his growth so his legs are stumpy too - poor fella! Thanks again and I will definitely be a Follower of your blog!

Thanks for your nice comment about my studio. It was greatly appreciated.

HI there!
Well, better late than never - but I guess that's why Karen will have the lists up for one year this time. i guess you really can't be late then, right?
I am visiting you because we are "neighbors". At least on Karen's list. And I had a few minutes today to sit and gaze at everyone's special spots and I thought - I really should come by and say hello!

Well, it seems we both took over our upstairs rooms. I stole the kids "hang out room" 0- the bonus room. When they moved out I looked around and declared "This is wasted real estate!" and decided to move in myself! It isn't nearly as big s yours . . . sigh. How wonderful to have so much space! And you are so organized!
I love snooping through people's homes. How bad is that?
Thanks for sharing! it was nice to "meet" you. And your posts that I read to get to this one - I swear - I put on 10 pounds just drooling over the cakes!
Have a great day!

I LOVE that great big room you took over as your own!!! What a great place for all of the things you talented gals use when you create!! The couch must be great for when you are busy THINKING and can lie there and relax and let the ideas flow!! The table and chairs story was so sweet....I am sentimental, too, I have so many things I cannot bear to part with from my family who are deceased..
Love the new tassel....I am still crazy about the ones I got from you!!
Thanks for sharing your room with us.....Hugs, Francy
