A little Bit About Me

Someplace in Thyme

I have been creating since I was a little girl. I am happy to say that having my own website has opened up a whole new world for me. Trying new mediums is a joy and sometimes a real eye opener. I sell what I create on etsy and my website, someplaceinthyme. If you have questions, please email me at cpeterson72@q.com. I welcome new blog friends and am honored if you find my little piece of heaven interesting enough to follow.

THE BIRTH OF A GRAPE

Do you see them?? Sweet little clusters of heaven. You wouldn't think we could grow Thompson seedless green grapes in the desert would you? Yep, we can, and we do. AZ even has wines.....grapes grown, pressed and made into delicious vino.
I planted this vine last year and had no fruit. This year however is different. Look closely and you can see the seeds of what I hope will be a gift from heaven.
I don't buy green grapes and haven't eaten one in years. They have no taste in my opinion, and are not sweet. I prefer the red seedless to the green. I think this is because they are picked and shipped to market before their time. I remember when I was a child, green grapes tasted so good.....what happened?

I now hope I can again taste the goodness of days gone by. Just look at the little nuggets, growing a little more each day......YIPPEE, my mouth is watering with anticipation of what lies ahead.

Growing up a trellis into the sky, I need to tie her up and train her to go where I can get to the fruits of my labor.

So pretty to look at too. I will keep you posted on my grapes as they mature. Right now I am like a mama waiting for the birth of goodness.

Hi, Char,
How exciting that you are going to have some delicious grapes! My aunt had a grape vine in NM, and I can remember as children we would play under her arbor. Have a terrific weekend! Vicki

That is so exciting! I am looking forward to this too. The trellis is set up and I just need the plant to the ground. You have encouraged me.

Grapes in the desert. I wouldn't have thought, but since you did, I think I will ask my husband to include some in our garden too.
