Mon Petit Coeur Francaise Tutorial

On my business blog Someplace In Thyme2, I have been showing you some of the sweet things I have made using the french tissue paper I have found. I promised you a tutorial and so here it is. I hope you enjoy yourselves and find the time to create some fun things too.
As you can see from the hard cardboard heart above, this is the start. You can readily find this type of unfinished shape in just about any craft store. I love hearts and so this is what I will be showing you today.

 The tissue paper I use is from 7 gypsies. This is very thin and can be cut or torn, depending on the look you are going for. I prefer to cut mine.
Using a sponge brush and some Modge Podge, brush some Modge Podge on the heart and place the tissue paper down. The above heart is the back. Just make sure to cover all the cardboard and the sides.
Let dry.

This is the front, and you can see I cut out selected paper areas that I wanted to use to showcase my theme.
After everything has dried, use the Modge Podge to cover the whole outside of your work, let dry and decorate.

I added some vintage lace and ribbon, along with pearls and roses to the top. I had a little tiny Eiffel Tower charm and thought that would be so cute, so I added it as well.

I think you could also use thin paper if you didn't like the idea of using tissue.
I will be making two more and selling them in sets of three, in my Etsy shop.
These would make adorable holiday ornaments and decorations for gift giving too. How sweet would they be covered in vintage sheet music paper or language paper?? I hope you try this and let me know what you think.
