This raggedy annie doll was handmade by me, and I consider her a primitive. Her body is tea dyed and her clothes are unhemmed with darker colors. Does this made her primitive? That is a great question, but by my defintion, the answer is yes.....
Such a sweet, sweet face. Love the yarn and rag hair. I have to admit I am torn between the two worlds of primitive and cottage. I think we can have it all tho, we should be able to combine the two for the best of both worlds, don't ya think??!!

ReplyDeleteAs a creator of shabbby,chic and primitive I find that alot of gals have different ideas on it...some like their shabby with lots of lace...feathers...etc.,some like blingy type of chic,and primitive comes in lots of types too! My girlfriend...likes the very prim type...very "grungy" tea stained...tears...holes...etc....

I think your little Annie is adorable and would be fine in prim,country or chic decor.....

Love the pink hair and yes we can have it all ! We are the designers! Primitive Reproduction as a definition may keep you on friendlier terms with all the antique people who define primitive as a era not a style. Cottage on the other hand is a wonderful term since it is understood to be interpreted differently by all.To me it is summer, relaxed, timeless, used by generations and lovingly worn. Happy Pink Meg
